MATCH PREVIEW:

Valour wraps up its home schedule against the Wanderers and with it comes one more chance to try and close the ground on the team they are chasing for the fourth and final Canadian Premier League playoff spot.

Valour is in sixth place with 28 points, Wanderers are fourth with 34 and York United FC is sandwiched in between with 33 points. A win Tuesday would pull them that much closer, even with Valour’s final two games coming on the road with trips to Calgary to face Cavalry FC this Saturday and then to Edmonton on November 6th to round out the regular season.

Valour has lost two straight after having won once and drawn twice in their three matches previous to that. The club is coming off a 2-nil loss to Atlético Ottawa in which they dominated in most statistical categories save for the scoreboard.

Wanderers are coming off a pair of nil-nil draws have five wins and eight draws against just one loss in their last 14 matches.

3 VALOUR FC PLAYERS TO WATCH

#21 Jose Galan, MF: No one ever questions the heart and desire of the veteran midfielder and he can bring a composed presence to the middle of the park.

#7 Moses Dyer, F: He is Valour’s most-dangerous and consistent threat up front, especially with the injury to Austin Ricci.

#82 Andy Baquero, MF/D: He’s versatile in that he can play both along the back line and in the middle of the park. Under-rated distributor of the ball who rarely makes a poor decision with the ball on his foot.

INJURED

-Valour has been without dominant centre back Andrew Jean-Baptiste for most of the season after he suffered a torn ACL in the Kickoff bubble at the start of the season. Jean-Baptiste did sign a contract extension this week to remain with the club next season https://valourfc.canpl.ca/article/i-wanted-to-commit-to-them-we-want-to-achieve-big-things-here-andrew-jean-baptiste-returns-for-2022-season

-Forward and leading scorer Austin Ricci is also unavailable due to a knee injury suffered in the Canadian Championship quarterfinal loss to Forge FC.
