MATCH PREVIEW

Valour FC wraps up the round-robin portion of the Island Games against Forge FC, the Canadian Premier League’s defending champion and a side which has not played since August 30th. Valour needs a minor miracle to advance to the second stage of the tournament – a win against Forge, a draw between HFX Wanderers and Atlético Ottawa, a draw between Pacific FC and FC Edmonton and a loss by York9 FC. Plus, Valour would have to have a better goal differential over York9.

As solid as the defending has been, Valour was held scoreless in its last match – a 2-nil loss to Wanderers – and has not managed to find the back of the net in four of six matches.

3 TO WATCH

#5 Julian Dunn, D: Injuries along the back line, particularly to Andrew Jean-Baptiste, will shine an even brighter spotlight on Dunn, who has been superb in the tournament for Valour. Leads all Valour players in minutes played with 540.

#27 Raph Ohin, MF: His compete level and his high-end motor have been on display throughout the whole tournament. No doubt that will continue against Forge FC.

#33 Fraser Aird, MF: An attack starved for goals could use even more creativity from Aird, who returned from a one-match absence to flash some of his skill against HFX.
