Valour FC announce return of midfielder Federico Peña

Valour FC today announce that the club has re-signed Canadian midfielder Federico Peña.

Peña, 20, joined Valour FC on April 3, 2019 after spending the previous season with the Royal Standard de Liège (Belgian First Division) as a member of the U-21 Reserves.

“Federico has shown terrific improvement in the previous year,” said Head Coach & GM Rob Gale. “He has all of the tools to succeed in the Canadian Premier League. He’s hardworking, enthusiastic and has a bright future ahead of him. We’re delighted to welcome back another Manitoban who will play in front of his home crowd in 2021.”

The midfielder played his youth soccer in Winnipeg after arriving in 2009 from Port of Spain. He first joined Winnipeg South End United (2009-2013), followed by Bonivital (2013-2015) and Granite United (2015-2017).

Peña spent the 2016-2017 season with KAA Gent (Belgian First Division) and the U-21 squad. While there, Peña saw training time with the First Team.
