Valour FC today announce the team has signed Canadian forward Alessandro Riggi.
Riggi, 28, joins Valour FC after spending the previous two seasons with HFX Wanderers FC, where he made 23 appearances, totalling 1,102 minutes played, one goal and one assist.
“Riggi is someone that will blend well with the young players that we have,” said Valour FC Head Coach & GM Phillip Dos Santos. “He’s electric, he’s dynamic and he’s active in the press. He’s a phenomenal character and a positive influence in the locker room and we’re very excited to have him.”
The Montreal native joined FC Montreal (USL) in 2015, spending two seasons with the club before joining Phoenix Rising FC (USL) in 2017. In total, Riggi made 81 USL appearances, totalling 21 goals, nine assists and 4,592 minutes played.
Riggi made three appearances for the U20 Canadian national team during the 2013 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Puebla, Mexico.
