Valour FC today announce the club has signed Colombian midfielder Kevin Rendón.
Rendón, 29, joins Valour FC from Deportivo Pasto (Liga BetPlay Dimayor) where he totalled four goals, one assist, 1,358 minutes played and 23 appearances in Colombia’s top-flight professional league.
“Kevin has the potential to be up there with the best in the league,” said Valour FC Head Coach & GM Phillip Dos Santos. “He brings quality in the offensive half, has a good final pass, good delivery on set plays and has good size to him, so we’re very happy to have him.”
The midfielder served as captain of the U-20 Deportivo Pasto youth team in 2011, finishing the season as the club’s top goal scorer. He would also make nine appearances for the Deportivo Pasto first team, helping the club earn promotion to Colombia’s first division.
In total, Rendón has made 105 appearances over ten seasons in Colombia’s top-flight league, tallying 13 goals, four assists and 5,908 minutes played.
Rendon is expected to arrive in Winnipeg and start training with the club next week.
